Named one of the World’s Most Beautiful Campuses, the Niels Bohr Building has also been awarded the Prix Versailles 2025, Special Prize for Exterior in the Campus category. Since 2015, the ceremony has been held annually at UNESCO, recognising some of the world’s most remarkable examples of contemporary architecture.

In this interview, we talked with Driss about working in a fast-moving industry at a studio with more than a century behind it. He shares his thoughts on adapting as the field shifts, and how he thinks innovation can grow from a deep legacy.

Set to shape how we approach our existing buildings and cultural heritage, the upcoming 2028 revision of Denmark’s national building regulations will have a major impact on adaptive reuse and renovation.
